West Allis Central High School CREDIT RECOVERY

SUMMER SCHOOL – 2022

The team at West Allis Central High School is planning to provide a Project-Based Learning approach to Summer School in 2022 that will give students the opportunity to earn course specific credits in a student-friendly structure.

The United States Department of Education set expectations for on-track graduation and it’s important for students to graduate on time and with their class. As it is the expectation that all West Allis-West Milwaukee School District students be on-track for graduation, your student is required to attend Summer School for credit recovery.

Completing summer school will help your student avoid retaking classes and/or taking multiple core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) at one time. Successful summer school participation allows students to take elective classes that they selected in early Spring. We want your student to acquire the essential knowledge and skills necessary for future success – the goal is to be college and career ready!

Each student is able to earn no more than 2.0 credits (four classes) in the summer session.

West Allis Central High School Credit Accumulation

SUMMER SCHOOL – 2022

The team at West Allis Central is planning to provide students interested in taking courses for accumulation credit with an opportunity to do so in summer school. Students accessing this opportunity are on pace to graduate and hope to take required courses that open opportunities for additional elective opportunities in their school schedule.

If your student is interested in “credit-accumulation” coursework this summer, please review the attached course offerings. Most of these courses require additional time to complete the course expectations. Therefore, students will start summer school on June 20, 2022. Completion of the experience will be course dependent.

Each student is able to earn no more than 1.5 credit (two classes) in the summer session.

Independent PE students should plan to participate in all six week of the summer school.
